1. do nothing except threaten him with economic sanctions,
outcome: china becomes number 1 at tech and military and millions die every year from viruses he keeps sending, and we lose any chance to win against the chinese for the next hundred years.

2. nuke him now (there are a few key cities where he always goes to at important meetings), there is a huge counter in various cities and millions die ...BUT the chinese communist party gets destroyed , china gets destroyed, US gets fucked but remains best military in the world. China has around 500 nukes. Haven't you seen that image with targeting scenarios for different numbers of nukes? 500 would include even small cities of 100,000. Likely 60% of the US population would die in the initial blasts alone, and the radiation and dust kicked up in the air on both sides would cause a nuclear winter that could kill the entire planet. There are no winners in a nuclear war. Their purpose is a deterrence to prevent it from ever happening. I shouldn't even have to explain this.

As a former Chinese, I'd say Xin doesn't give a fuck about Chinese people dying. Chinese lives are just numbers to him and he'd gladly sacrifice some of then if it means weakening all his enemies. The damage is barely making a dent on the 1.4 billion population of China, but its doing much more damage everywhere else. I'm not saying Xin is actually smart enough to have planned this from the very beginning, but this situation is sure-as-hell benefiting him right now.

I looked it up and it's confirmed they have around 300. More than enough to make a nuclear exchange unthinkable. You're delusional. They're largest test was 4Mt, which is around 1,000 times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb. Imagine that going off in a U.S. city. Now hundreds of cities. U.S. interceptor missile systems are unreliable and have been fraught with failure. We only have around a couple dozen and it would take 5 or so to take out 1 warhead due to the failure rate, and there's still a chance they'd all miss. China can't innovate and they have worse technology than us, but it's not like everything they make falls apart. They do have the capability to annihilate the U.S.
I only stated 500 from memory, and the 300 number is from outside sources. This isn't NK. We have much better intel. You're delusional.
Yes they could be wiped out, but they would wipe the U.S. out in return, and there would be a nuclear winter. If you know anything about the low success rate of the few interceptors the U.S. has, there isn't even a complete guarantee we could stop North Korea's nukes.
