The jobs are all in computer science and engineering. So the numbers do not apply very well. STEM includes so many non job specific degrees like physics, mathematics, biology and more that almost never can get a job without relocating across the country. I do agree though the H1-B program is shitty and needs to end.

Even in that all one has to do is look at the career threads on /g/ to see a pessimistic job outlook.

Boomers dying from covid19 means lots of houses for sale. If the boomers paid off their loan it means the property will be inherited by genx and other millenials. Many older gen x and millennials already own homes. They will want to sell their boomer parents' house, and get that sweet sweet 300-500k dollars. Since so many dead boomers, supply is high and prices will drop. Since people are poor, prices will drop further. Chink flu may solve the housing markets inflation in the next 2 years.

Even in engineering most graduates are underemployed. I run constantly into guys with engineering degrees working jobs only requiring hs diplomas.
People need to stop directing young men towards that hole .
