It really depends how you would roll it out, you could argue that the state would provide it to everyone because they could save money in the longer-term on stuff like medical costs for conditions that crispr would eliminate

I don't think the technology would be affordable enough though at the beginning for the state to do that and I think that we'd get like a new caste system or something we're rich people are basically able to make their kids into super humans. Also we need to be really really careful with gene editing since you know you can get a lot of unwanted effects. Also we need different type of people in a society for it to function and if people gene edit I feel like almost everyone would do the same stuff and everyone would just basically become the same which I don't think is good for society.

Because I think that income mobility is a good thing and large differences between rich and poor people is a bad thing. And this would create huge gaps between rich and poor people which would make social hierarchical a lot bigger and would make us less egalitarian.
