It strikes me that I forgot important things on this list of CDC "expert" failures:

Now for these you could say "They made the best decisions they could based on the limited information they had available at the time!" but if those limited-information decisions are repeatedly wrong, then there really is no reason to demand knee-jerk reflexive deference to "expert" opinion. "Expert" opinion only deserves deference if it's correct more often than troll posts on Yas Forums. And it hasn't been.
