It's the sole competitor to the petrodollar to ever actually get rolled out, and marries Russia & China together as much as the US & Saudi Arabia have been since the Nixon admin. That's not how petrodollar works you retard. USD isn't literally based on oil prices. All petrodollar means is that OPEC makes everyone pay for oil with US dollars. That keeps USD valuable as long as developed nations need oil to function i.e. effectively forever. Having too much oil right now because of the virus scare isn't going to mean nobody will use any oil for the next 50 years. I actually have no idea why people like you keep reaching these nonsensical conclusions about oil and US currency. It's like you have no idea what petrodollar means and are just taking "oil" and "money" from the name and treating it as "oil prices drop = dollar collapses."

The price of oil has an effect on the volume of demand for the currency. Cheaper oil=less dollars required for said oil=less volume demand.

Because the dollar is more of a paper tiger than china & is pretty easily ripped, a "floating" currency, held up largely & increasingly by there being zero competition for it in the energy market. This was all the case with the massive debt levels BEFORE Corona & Trumpbuxs & this new dem shit making the rounds about "no rent or mortgage & $2k a month for everyone for a year".

Demand for US dollars is surging because that's what everyone runs towards during crises as the stable reserve currency. Any reduction in demand from lower oil prices won't outweigh that increase in demand as the safest money to hold in the short term and won't exist as a factor at all in the long term. The oil excess situation only lasts as long as the world is shut down over COVID-19. None ot this posting about petrodollar collapse because of that makes any sort of sense.
