I'd say the 90s had the best movies, vidya, and era of the internet. The music was extremely great as well, grunge is my favorite genre of rock. Politics wasn't necessarily good, but wasn't at the state it is now. At least the economy was in a bubble and doing good.

I was born in 91 but can concur the place felt like something was happening, given it was still very old fashioned in rural Ireland.. I'm from Kildare but used to holiday in Sligo and Wexford.. everything felt more Irish, and that was a good thing.
