There are many religious explanations, depending on what your religion is it could vary from being shaped from clay and given life/intelligence, to merely being a piece of nature that is uniquely aware of itself.

If you want a scientific explanation, I can do that.

It's best to split into a few groups based on who they are and when they came to Europe.

1. Prehistoric farmers (Ancient Europeans who are non-caucasian and were direct immigrants from the middle east and africa)
2. Celts, and the Greco-Italians (Some of the first Caucasians to enter Europe)
3. Slavs, Germans, and Nords (More recent Caucasian immigrants who peopled northern Europe long after established people groups on the Mediterranean)
4. Hungarians, Finns, and basically all the other patches in the cultural map (Very recent immigrants who are linguistically and usually genetically disparate from the rest of Europe)

Modern Whites altogether are a branch of a larger group of Caucasians that include North Indians, Persians, and some ancient and mostly extinct central asians.

The first people to enter Europe were prehistoric farmers, and let's rip the bandage off now, they were very likely dark skinned seeing as they had recently immigrated from a land that was much warmer, they pushed out and assimilated the Neanderthals who had previously lived in Europe before being pushed out and assimilated themselves by Caucasians. They had many different groups based mainly on their technological development.

The next groups of people were the Celts, Greeks and Italians. There were also many smaller and somewhat isolated groups that persisted until they were assimilated or killed by the Romans. You probably know most of Roman and Greek history, but the Celts are often overlooked as one of the largest groups of people to have ever inhabited Europe before modern history, they inhabited lands from Britain, to Western Europe to Anatolia but were assimilated by the Romans and Germans (More coming)

The next groups of people to enter Europe were Germans, Nords and Slavs, Nords and Germans are closely related as you probably know, however it is very much worth noting the fact that they are distinct groups genetically, the Nords feature prominently some haplogroups that are less common in German groups. The Slavs came a while after the Germans, moving away from their previously nomadic life in far eastern Europe and central Asia and settling most of eastern and southern Europe. The Slavs have been influenced by many groups, most prominently the Greeks and the Nords, the Russians were at one point ruled over by Vikings, and its plenty obvious how the Greeks have influenced religion in the East.

The last groups to enter Europe (Besides shitskins lol) were Hungarians, and the asian components of the Finns, as well as the Sapmi and Sami of Fennoscandia. The Hungarians were, if I recall correctly, the most recent group to enter Europe, the northerners are very easy to explain, being nomads from north asia. The Hungarians are a little more difficult though, they are certainly nomads from the Caucasus, but they are hard to place culturally, linguistically and genetically, as they have had minor admixture from Turks, Avars, and others.

Some other groups I meant to mention, but don't fit cleanly, or I forgot:

Basques, if I remember correctly, are almost entirely descendants of the old stock Prehistoric Farmers.

Balts, there are many different origins of Balts, but for the most part they are the descendants of Germans, Slavs, Nords and to some extent an asian component that is related to the Sami, Sapmi and Finns.
