Funny, there have been several times I've gone to the doctor only for them to start Googling things in front of me, including just typing in my symptoms and seeing what comes up.

Anyone else experience this?

nurses are fucking annoying, they act like their mini degree is on par with a doctors. anyone who knows a roastie nurse in real life knows her delusions of grandeur. they believe they are experts on things they know nothing of, like nutrition. and most are fucking fat. also they are legit creeps in real life.

I haven't been to a doctor in nearly a decade but the people I know who go regularly hate their doctors. The main reason is they're always "on vacation" or too busy to see them so they are forced to see a nurse practitioner more than the actual doctor and still have to pay out the ass. They know that the sports cars in the parking lot belong to those assholes and that they live in the gated community around the corner. Don't wear fancy Italian leather loafers to the office you out of touch douche bags.

General Practitioners basically are walking google searches. Specialists are the real doctors.

Doctors are full of themselves. The modern doctor if they are not a surgeon just acts as a middle man to order tests and get you access to medications or referral to surgeons.
All the tests ordered sends the patient to some technicians and their samples to a lab of some technicians who will then interpret the results for them.
Oh and if you do need some med or something given to you while in hospital it will be a nurse that does it.
And at the end of the day, they just do whatever your insurance company says they can and can't do.
Continuously late on appointments and always in a rush. And if you're in hospital you will see dozens of them as they all pop into the room to lay eyes on you so they can charge you.

And the public is waking up to it all. At this point I'm pretty sure a doctor is given the same sort of respect and skepticism as you should give a mechanic.

And their overworked status, which they are, is driven by the AMA which works to limit the flow of doctors receiving degrees to keep their wages artificially inflated.

I’ve never liked most of the doctors I’ve had, they’re too arrogant behind that degree they have

A few years ago i had really bad sleep paralysis, like every single time i started to fall asleep for 2 weeks so i didnt fucking sleep for 2 weeks and was terrified. I went to the dr and he had never even heard of it before. He was like damn that sounds terrible. Then he wrote me a referral to a sleep study and they had no fucking idea what they were talking about either. By the time i had my appointment it was already over but i still went just in case it happened again and i didnt ever want to deal with that shit again. So i did slept over night and then they kept me the next day to see if i could take naps sporadically throughout the day. They were testing me for fucking NARCOLEPSY. When they told me i didnt have narcolepsy i fucking laughed in their face and was like did you not hear anything i said i know i dont have fucking narcolepsy i had sleep paralysis so bad it gave me insomnia. The best part is i got served with a lawsuit 2-3 years later for not paying when they never even fucking billed me or tried to bill me. By the time i got sued i had no idea what the lawsuit was even about i figured i had just paid for it when i went for appointment or my insurance covered it.

The exams to become a doctor are some of the only ones in any industry that tests memory instead of intelligence. Almost no correlation with g. So yes, doctors are pretty much made obsolete by Google and the industry is populated by retards.

A nurse takes care of you. Of course you'll recall them more fondly than a walking diagnostic/surgical tool. And, no offense, their work is important, it takes a real head case to operate on people like a flesh mechanic. How is anyone supposed to empathize with someone who can do that. It's like, yeah, we employ sociopathic leaders because of their ability to make hard but necessary decisions, but that doesn't mean we like them.

Agreed and I have doctors in my family

They've been able to lobby to keep themselves required in a field that desperately needs automation efficiency

My ideal is we would have cheap telemedicine for most basic things, still require surgeons and specialists, and that most other doctors should be doing research for biomed tech

Instead my nurse wife has to deal with hospital doctors that can't ever be contacted, and have to wait hours for them to call back to just get a simple release or medication order

I trust doctors far more than I trust nurses, I've encountered a lot of retarded, incompetent, lazy, or just plain malicious nurses. they're the ones who couldn't make it as doctors

I'm a med student and all I can say is that I wouldn't be suffering hell just to say I am a God treating people. I'm in it for that sweet steady paycheck. Better believe I don't wanna fuck up my diagnosis either.

those are the good ones. most of them are worse, they are foggily trying to recall what they saw in a medical textbook 30 years ago and whether they can even remember the outdated information or not their egos prevent them from second guessing themselves.
