I was taking adderal(?) as a child and again as a young adult about 5 years ago. My experience was something of an awakening. As a child, I was diagnosed with ADD (which I think is a made up thing but that’s besides the point,) and it was prescribed to me. Normally, I’m very quiet, observant of everything around me, and very unmotivated to do much. When I’m on the medicine, I feel as if my brain has reached its maximum potential; I’m able to hold lengthy conversations with my peers, I can focus on multiple tasks and complete them as I am able to, all while being aware of my present surroundings. The withdraw is hell though. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I don’t know the long lasting effects of it, but if there was a way to create this drug without the negative side effects of it I truly believe it could change the world.
