Mark Frost was completely involved with season 3. Twin Peaks isn't Twin Peaks without both Lynch and Frost, as you can see with FWWM.

Fat old Audrey was entirely the point of her character in S3 though. She was always the center of attention in the old series due to her beauty and power, but in S3 she is struggling to find relevance and to be the center of attention again despite her age and hitting the wall. This reaches its climax when she has her dance then "wakes up" to herself in a mirror.

good post. the writers obviously began to stretch out the plot in a silly way. when i last watched the series i remember thinking this is the point where the jews took control of the creative aspect. as horrible a thing that is to say in modern times i still believe it to be true. It's filled with crap that could have been condensed to a beautiful climax, but they stretched it out to keep drones glued to the set for profit. reminds me of the simpsons in a way.
