Any of you looking for advice or a model on cultural restoration should talk to the Blackfoot in Alberta Canada. They're doing a decent job getting their community on a positive track, recovering artifacts, and doing the necessary scholarship. They're even getting their bison back. Even have real medicine. i'm a quarter alaska native. i don't have much to add to the thread other than that native americans aren't a single culture or people across the u.s.
it's a big country and each group has its own art, songs, regalia, and cultural values. i feel sorry for the ones who live in poverty in reservations though. some of them, if you could see how their ancestors lived, must have been an impressive people.
