That 7% is based off the worldwide CONFIRMED cases. A large number of people are asymptomatic. Most people who do have symptoms do not need to go to the hospital/get confirmed in any way. So the 7% mortality rate is highly inaccurate. If you say that there have been at least 50-100 million cases to date, then the mortality rate drops significantly. Realistically speaking, there probably have been more than 100 million cases, and since death toll wouldn't change with this data, the real mortality rate would be essentially 0. (0.406% for 50 million cases, 0.203% for 100 mil and so forth)
