/SIG/ Self Improvement General [Lock down Edition]

It's time to have one of these, it's been too long.

/sig/ - Self-Improvement General is inherently political, drawing from ancient Hellenic civic virtue, early Americanism, National Socialism, and a myriad of other political ideologies. Not only are strong bodies needed for warfare and industry, but mental health deteriorates with physical health, as observed by millennia of physicians from prehistoric Ayurvedic tradition to Hippocrates in the 5th century BC to modern researchers like Dr. John Ratey. Physical weakness leads to mental and spiritual weakness and the decay of peoples and their societies.

Strengthen your body to strengthen your mind. Don't let sloth distort the lens through which you view the world. Open your eyes and see through the lies. Build a better body politic.

>/NAT/ /SIG/ is allowed by mods
>regular actual /sig/ is deleted
Seriously who the fuck are these guys working for? It's almost like the mods want people to continue hating each other. As of d&c was their goal. The more I browse Yas Forums the more it seems like a thing, /bants/ and Yas Forums are pretty much the same thing now. Yas Forums itself needs a little /sig/.

Anyways, any tips for fighting off the sugar jew? And how do I make Apple cider vinegar more palatable? That stuff is rough.

Are my friends in this thread? I met a saint the other day. He helped me.

Yas Forums is largely controlled by interests which aim to degrade the mental health of its users. /sig/, no matter how explicitly political the OP, has been under attack since the early Iron Pill threads in 2014/2015.

describe it if you don't mind

when did this happen? I would like for you to go into more depth so the newfags can grasp the idea better.

>t. newfag
Yas Forums has always been a containment board at odds with site ownership. moot deleted its predecessor, /new/, and brought it back only out of free speech idealism and not out of any sympathy with the content or culture. If people here are mentally healthy, they will be competent to leave their online containment chamber, something which nobody in charge at any level wants to see.

I need to drink more water.
Really need to cut back on the sugar, the Yas Forums threads, and some how use the dumbbells in my car. A pair of 10 pounds, but I'm sure it's better than nothing.

Part of /SIG/, IMO, is triumphing over feminine temptations and wiles...

Defeat the THOTICIAN (thot + black magician), anons. Here's how... youtu.be/eqi6Ch7RJg0

>No citizen has a right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training…what a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.
t. Socrates
>In order for man to succeed in life, God provided him with two means, education and physical activity. Not separately, one for the soul and the other for the body, but for the two together. With these two means, man can attain perfection.
t. Plato

>I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.

>Health was amongst (if not the most) precious gift of Heaven, and without it we are but little capable of business, or enjoyment.
t. George Washington
>Leave all the afternoon for exercise and recreation, which are as necessary as reading. I will rather say more necessary because health is worth more than learning.

>Walking is the best possible exercise. Habituate yourself to walk very far.

>Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.

>Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.

>I repeat my advice to take a great deal of exercise, and on foot. Health is the first requisite after morality.
t. Thomas Jefferson

>any tips for fighting off the sugar jew?
I used to eat too many donuts (got day-old ones for free) and decided it probably wasn't a good idea in the long term, so to break myself of the habit, I decided to consume nothing but donuts and water until I was suffering enough too much to continue. I lasted about three days before the headaches, fatigue, and dizziness got bad enough to end the endeavor. I didn't eat a single donut for months after that, and it was another month or two before I had another one.

So you can dig through the archives of the time period I mentioned and gather intel on me to exploit?

>I need to drink more water.
Get a large drinking vessel and hold yourself accountable to draining it a certain number of times each day. Chugging lots of water right before bed to catch up kind of sucks, so you'll be motivated to have better hydration habits the next day.

No shit. Its most noticeable with all that incel garbage. Years back anons got me on the book of pook wnd helped me fix my shit with women, nowadays Id just be bombarded with incel bullshit until I start to believe its impossible

People of high intellect can filter, passively or actively, through the artificial noise on here to communicate the Truth. Containment of the Truth is not possible.

>Really need to cut back on[...] the Yas Forums threads
>I get so easily distracted
>I got a smartphone
>Do any of you have any advice?
>How do I break the cycle of just spending the entire day on a computer/phone screen?
Make sure your technology exists in service to you and that you don't exist in service to your technology. Take a look at the Amish approach to assessing tech as a boon or bane to the community. They use some modern technology (e.g., a sect may use cellphones for business but keep them out of the home) but they use it cautiously, with each sect deciding on how a given technology might be made to serve the community:
archive.md/5pWKj

Ditch your smartphone if you don't absolutely need it for work or school. Getting a wristwatch will minimize your excuses to look at your phone and getting a cheap single-purpose MP3 player will eliminate the chance of slipping up with smartphone usage should you desire music at the gym, while driving, etc. Get in the habit of not reflexively checking your phone as soon as a text or alert comes in, you'll find your focus interrupted less frequently and you'll find yourself browsing aimlessly less often--turn off all audio/vibrate alerts that aren't absolutely necessary to the task at hand if you find yourself unable to ignore them. There are browser extensions for keeping track of/limiting time spent on non-productive websites, such as StayFocusd and LeechBlock. Get a small pocket notebook to help replace some of your smartphone functions (a Rite in the Rain pad will survive several trips through the laundry).

Beyond that, you'll need to actually do something with your day. Read a book, improve your garden, train to fight, exercise for health, volunteer in your community, start a family, ....

You need to be the best you that you can be: we're building a better future and you're going to be part of it. While no man is perfect, every man has his part to play.

>some how use the dumbbells in my car. A pair of 10 pounds, but I'm sure it's better than nothing.
It's absolutely better than nothing. Find something to hang off of for pullups and use those dumbells to do goblet squats.

Trips of truth, there has to be more to this thread...

Someone post a link to the old mega with the fitness and other books before this gets shoa'd.

>Above all, a balance must be struck in education between intellectual instruction and physical development. What is called a Gymnasium or secondary school today is a mockery of the Greek school it was supposedly modeled after. We have completely forgotten in education that in the long run, a sound mind can only live in a sound body.
t. Adolf Hitler
>Long lasting success in any human endeavor is never the result of blind luck. The achievement of a clearly defined goal, whether it be the act of walking from point "X" to point "Y", the building of a house, or the organization of a business, is always the product of three things:
>>The intellectual ability to perceive the problem involved, the opposition which must be expected, and the best way to overcome that opposition to reach the goal.
>>The will and determination to do whatever may be necessary to reach the desired goal, regardless of opposition.
>>The physical means, strength, and courage to enforce and carry out the plan or fight conceived by the mind and determined by the will.
>If any of these three elements be lacking on one's purpose, failure is the inevitable, predictable result.

>On the other hand, civilizations, for all their intellectual achievements and sciences, perish most often because of failure of the will, the diminishing of the savage and ruthless drive for survival and dominance which originally created society. They become "humanitarian", selfish, and soft. They become physically weak and dependent on paid armies and police to do their fighting. The fighting spirit of honor and self-sacrifice and heroism of their ancestors gives way to a growing love of ease and luxury and cowardice masquerading as "humanitarianism".

Is the MEGA file sharing safe to use? I looked at all the files in a shared folder and I’m worried someone could have loaded any number of those files with viruses, malware, spyware...

How can I contain them verify the files as safe when going through them?
