Unpopular opinion: I agree. Keep historic districts, but Europe is absolutely suffocated with maintaining their antiquity which limits their progress. In a century or two, they'll look like the tribesmen of the Middle East dwelling in the old decayed rocks of of past empires.

theres nothing wrong with developing new styles of architecture so long as they are distinct from one another and maintain some form of cultural reference-point. you should be able to tell nations/regions apart from one another based on their architecture.
