Yeah it was embarrassing. Max claimed to have some algorithm coded that would enable him to play a game like an engine, but I don’t think he really understood what he was trying to do. The algorithm was allegedly “unfinished” by the time the game was set to take place so they ended up just playing a normal game. Max got utterly BTFO, including having his two rooks and queen forked by a single bishop move. Was pathetic.
There’s another vid on YouTube of a guy doing something similar, but he actually took it seriously and spent the month learning tactics/other chess basics. Only got to around 1200-1300 ELO by the end of it I believe, but that was still a lot more worthy of respect than whatever this Max Douche guy was trying to pull off.
