The United States must end urban sprawl and its love of cars.
>It hurts the environment far more than urban density
>It has made us fat
>We shouldn't have to drive 10 minutes just to go to the grocery store
>It makes us have no attachment to where we live, the people who live there, and our neighbors
>It is far more expensive to build businesses/apartments in urban sprawl since you have to add parking spaces
>We will continue to have nothing of value for the next generation to look up to such as statues, architecturally beautiful buildings, etc.
>It hurt businesses
>We are running out of room for new roads and highways and we can barely afford to maintain existing infrastructure
There is absolutely no reason to have urban sprawl or the suburbs. We have actively destroyed our nation and its way of life by doing this to ourselves. It took 50 years to make this our lifestyle and we have to stop it as soon as possible.
The United States must end urban sprawl and its love of cars
We should just focus on making cars less damaging to the environment.
>We need to continue giving (((car companies))) more revenue
No. They're the reason we're in this situation.
you're too autistic
just break up the 'burbs and add more services to them, perfectly doable with changing the zoning laws to allow a 20% commercial presence in residential, but mixing use is HARAM in anglo-autististan
parking - 1.1 per unit in residential, 1 for every table for restaurants n shit, 1 per every 66 square meters of commercial space, praking resolved on the plot, often in garages
there, i fixed urban sprawl
That doesn't fix the fact Americans still need a car to do anything. People here say cars are freedom but it's not freedom if you're forced to buy one. Our cities are not built for people at all.
>tfw it's only a 3 minute walk from the mall
>The United States must end urban sprawl and its love of cars.
No.
Isn't East Coast like European cities?
Yes.
>only millionaire should own cars
kys
Take the city bus, pass nigger.
Some, not all. Almost every city in the US used to be built for people but during the 60s we through it out the window.
I'm not living in Megacity One, urban nigger.
Never said that faggot.
I'd gladly take the bus if it got more funding and was more reliable.
Imagine being this afraid of niggers. Euros have their nigger equivalent and you don't see them cower in the corner.
Fuck the environement and fuck OP too. Fucking foreign faggot.
Take it up with the leaders of your city. Poorly run municipalities is not a federal problem, it's a local problem.
So what is the reason behind suburbs? Do people want to live in houses and not apartments?
And when Americlaps want to go to stores, then they have to drive to city center or what?
OP is the urban nigger. I don't give a shit what Euros have. I will not be crammed into a city to live like a chink
That's not what I meant and you know it.
There are stores all over the place here. I live in a town of 2500 people and there are two grocery stores and a Walmart (functionally a grocery store) and a Sam's Club within 10 minutes from where I live.
Not an argument.
>HUUUUURRRRRR GUBMENT BAD!!!!
>COMPANIES DESTROYING OUR CITIES GOOD!!!
The purpose of the suburb was to get away from the city but it had the effect of us becoming super reliant on cars, having no connection to our neighbors, and having everything built to accommodate cars. You cannot go anywhere in the US without a car except for some areas that may be built for people. If you want to go to the park, you still need to use your car to get there. Yes, people use their cars to go to the grocery store, the grocery stores have some of the largest parking lots in the whole country.
>I-I'm too afraid of niggers!!!11
I didn't say government is bad, just your local government being shit is your problem, not a federal problem, which is true.
What are you doing on a local level to encourage where you live to make the changes you want specifically?
The problem is everyone thinks like you. They look at what we are like and don't bother seeing anything worth changing or improving. Do you honestly believe the majority of city politicians actually care about cities being built for people when they were fed just as much of the lie about the car as you were?
So your answer to this:
>What are you doing on a local level to encourage where you live to make the changes you want specifically?
Is nothing. Unsurprising.
So your solution is to attempt to force the entire country to change in the hopes that will somehow fix the deficits you see locally instead of getting directly involved and putting effort into changing politics locally.
If every whiny city fuck got off their ass and annoyed their local politicians they could actually have a chance to get something accomplished.
You _will_ use the mass transit, comrades
No offense but this mentality is part of why housing is not affordable now. Starter homes are prevented from being built because people will go “tHis IS urBAn sPRaWl.” I like the idea of zoning laws but prepare for already in demand houses to become less affordable.
Urban centers and mass transit are exactly why NYC is suffering the most from this pandemic.
Educating people on this subject is the priority you dumb faggot.
What percentage of the people in your city would you say want your local public transportation improved?
well, what I said will drastically reduce the need for them
WHY do they need it?
