I was once friends with some actors who gained a modicum of fame, most people would know a few of them by their face and know what their name is; but as that industry is want to do, not all of us that apply go anywhere or ever gain anything other than being sexually harassed by the scum of the earth (that is a different story). we did manage to become friends and shoot the shit with each after seeing each other so often though. occasionally we hung out.
I was once hanging with one of these friends at an event and had gone to get a drink when I find my friend had been singled out by this woman who was speaking to him while he sat alone at a table. He gave me the sign to wait while he finished talking to her as I approached, so I fucked off and talked to some other people for a few minutes and went back to my friend.
I asked him what that was about, normally he would introduce me to any of the important people who may give me work (not that it mattered) so I thought she might have been one of the drug dealers or some shit that would bug the more known people every now and then. His answer was, "Oh that was just Jizz-stain offering me some of her prostitutes." Now, I am known for being a bit hard of hearing, but that is what I heard. This was something new to me, I asked them if they get offered girls like that often. "it happens". "Are they any good?" "Nah, you don't want any of the girls they are offering," in a tone that said just drop it and I understood that tone. "Well, with a name like Jizz-stain at least she works in the right industry." that was the end of that whole topic because you know how buddies like to bullshit each other and we moved on to talking about something else.
Life did what life does and the chances of going anywhere in that industry looked slim so I moved on my way with my life. While I could still call a few of them my friends, time and distance has made the majority of those people nothing more than memories in my life.
