There are a dozen coronaviruses which produce simply a mild flu. They have been circulating in human population for 1000 years now. People dont get imminity from them either. What people do get a good imminuty against, is viruses that belong to genus influenza. People still fall sick from influenza however since the virus mutates each year. Sometimes it mutates back to what it as 10 years ago and people who were protected then, are protected again.
None of this has been proved to happen with corona.

You don’t necessarily clear all of the Varicella zoster virus infection when you catch and recover from chickenpox. A certain percentage goes dormant in your nerve cells and re-emerges later (likely at random throughout your life, but an infection is only establish when you have reduced immune function from old age, sickness, etc). That’s how you get shingles, even though you “should” be immune to Varicella zoster. This is similar to how Herpes works, where you get flare-ups for the rest of your life because the virus is never really cleared from your body.
It’s actually an unintentionally good comparison, since there’s some evidence that SARS-2 may also go dormant in the body—hence why so many “reinfection” stories are coming out.
