rip early 00's
We talked to our friends on AOL instant messenger and had GoldenEye tournaments on N64. Then we realized girls would suck our dicks for pot and that consumed a lot of our time.
Anything pre-Obama was great.
There was always a lot of banter between brits and yanks. They’d say that our teeth were bad we’d say they were fat and lost the Vietnam war. Despite all of this we remained friends bc of the common bond that our countries had.
That all change when Obama got elected...
All of a sudden we had to put the banter to one side and team up! against the increasing numbers of amerimutts and shitskins that are now invading the west
shit compared to the 90s
pretty shite
music was actually worse (aside the whole garage rock revival which never really got mainstream)
crunk was more degenerate and sounded dumb than modern trap
fashion was loose and sloppier. tech was not quite 90s stone age but not really advanced touch screen either. ADSL shit
in other words, worse than 2010s but better than 2020s (so far)
Shit.
9/11 ruined that decade & an inside-job done by (((Israel))). (((George W Bush))) was a ZOG puppet, & (((Israel))) used the "weapons of mass destruction" meme to mass murder Iraq & Afgahnestin. Obama made shit worst at the end of the decade.
To this day, I still don't understand why we keep fighting wars we have nothing to do with.
new years 2000 was awesome. we all thought the future was now. then 9/11.
>True
1997 - 2001 were the best years to be alive
It’ll never be that good again with all the social media bull shit
Playing Fallout till morning, Dad wakes you up cause we're flying to Australia. During the flight Dad goes to take a dump and you steal one of his cigarettes for your first smoke.
>Poor zoomers and later millenials will never experience this
Myspace was lit
But better than the shit time we live in now
1997-2001 was the peak of human western civilization. Socially and Economy. Ironically that was even said in the Matrix.
playing rugby with my mates, wagging school to go surfing every day. No multiculturalism. They truly were the good old days.

It was right when the internet was taking off, before everyone had smartphones. Conversations were different. People could spin tales, and there was no way to fact check them. They could just say something worked a way, like knocking on wood, and people would believe it. It was a pre myth-busters (2003) world.
This was a world a paranoia, deceit, lies. People that were fake.
Infinite knowledge was not yet at peoples fingertips.
>wagging school to go surfing everyday
Damn that sounds nice, being Australian seems awesome
A lot better than now but still shit.
Simpler, more innocent times my friend.
Not much has changed except we're not fighting over oil at the moment. Substitute 9/11 and George W for trump and chinkenpox and shit feels snout the the same. Liberals haaaaaaaaated W. Just like they hate trump now....
It was fine until smartphones came along.
>Newgrounds
Ah, Kramer's Hentai Adventure, the source of my hentai addiction.
Boomers and Gen-X'ers in the US were fucking retards who believed that Saddam did 9/11:
We burned out our reserves of nationalism on a pointless war and a pointless attempt at containing china.
Completely better than what we have now. The world is almost unrecognizable
baggy jeans and pooka shells and Linkin Park
almost exactly like 2020, only obv. older tech and non-pandemic.
If you have to ask.. choke the fuck out of yourself.
What was last week like?
nostalgia is the gayest cognitive bias ever
Fuck yeah
Holy shit this is actual journalism
I legitimately cant recall a single article that actually cited the polls they were touting, but here they go into the actual number of people polled and the margin of error, I cant even imagine WaPo even acknowledging the concept of a margin of error on one of their twitter polls
Before iPhones and Obama, it was all glorious.
The funny part is that back then, I actually believed all the footage I was seeing. Apparently, I'm learning that a lot of the stuff we saw never happened or was from other events.
the four horsemen of atheism hadnt happened yet, people didnt really believe in god but christians and muslims walked around with this idea in their head that everyone else believed the stupid bullshit that they believed, because when they would confront people about their lack of faith people didnt know how to respond because honestly who gives a shit, its kind of like knowing what to say to flat earth retards, why would you want to carry that information in your head and push out something important
the internet was dog shit, computers were dog shit, video games were dog shit, playing video games meant that you were a nerd and you didnt have any friends, while at the same time every single teenage guy played video games 24/7 but girls still thought only nerds played video games and it took 5-10 years for them to come around
youtube didnt exist, or was completely different from how it is now, Yas Forums didnt exist, or was completely different from how it is now. if you tried telling people that the NSA is spying on you or any thing like that people would literally laugh at you, call you a paranoid schizo to your face and tell all their friends what a moron you are
people thought bacon was bad for you, people thought fat was bad for you, people thought red meat was bad for you, people thought milk was bad for you because it has fat in it. scientists were getting paid by massive international corporations to lie about what was healthy and it was successful in a massive way, to the point where "everybody" thought red meat, fat, bacon etc was unhealthy, and if you tried saying anything else they would just say something retarded like "why dont you ask top scientists or elite athletes" meanwhile if you had elite athlete friends at the time you would realize they all eat literally whatever the fuck they want
people were generally speaking just dumb as fuck, even dumber than they are now. people would watch cnn and literally believe every word they said
Wasn’t even close to the level of derangement we see now
alright i guess.
My 12 year old self figured the Y2K scare was fake and gay by changing the system clock on my computer to 1/1/2000 and nothing happened. I was a real shithead on the internet when I was 12. You could do things that would get you arrested now with near total impunity. Network security wasn't really a thing back then. There would be loads of networks like schools, libraries, and companies with default admin passwords. All you had to do was set up a script to port scan a range of IPs and try default logins then you'd have admin access to loads of networks. And you could do whatever you wanted with them like have you own botnet, turn them into ftps, or use them for irc or whatever.
Israel did 9/11
