Was Buchanan right? I don't really see how the U.S. is going to remain the dominant power this century, especially with the rapid rise of China we simply do not have the human capital at this point.
Everything he predicted in this book is visible today.
Does Yas Forums think the U.S. will balkanize? If so, what year? Buchanan thinks around 2025. Vox Day thinks Around 2030.

USA is going to be turning into Brazil over the next 40 years. It's anybody guess as to when the country splits but a spread of 2025 to 2060 seems like a reasonable guess. My guess is when the white Boomers die off in about 20 years, the strain on society will get bad enough to cause major darkie revolts. 2035 to 2045 will probably be the first break as the South West votes to be its own country, then fights a war to stay its own country.

Yes, we are heading towards a collapse and hopefully a rebirth. Government is over-bloated and useless. In Illinois, outside of Chicago, it’s taxation without representation. This state could and should split. The country itself is pockets of blue in large urban and immigrant supported areas and red everywhere else. I’m not sure what the split would look like in terms of what Buchanan is stating, but we are ripe for a cleansing of some type. It most likely will happen naturally. Extended shutdowns in states with democrat governors will see a huge pushback by its rural citizens. It’s finally starting to happen in illinois and well underway in other states.

America is too corrupt and soft to be a functional authoritarian state. This is one of the (many) problems I have with fash ideas. The reason it works in China is several generations of communism installed a sense of civic responsibility/loyalty to state bureaucracy. Its the opposite here

In america politicians sell their own state out for better deals from multinational corps. There's a revolving door between industry and the agencies that are supposed to regulate them. It would never work, the US would just break up into neo-feudal corporate states and it would look like bladerunner

I think the US isn’t going anywhere For a while but we are defiantly due for a major crisis that shapes our country (like a Great Depression or another civil war). The issue with Balkanization is most countries that Balkanized all have distinct nationalities and cultures (Take the actual balkans or Austria-Hungary for example). For the Americans, it’s usually a very liberal urban environment and conservative rural environment. Most Americans still however, view and identify as Americans. I have my own book I’d like to recommend, the accidental superpower. It talks about how the US is indeed leaving the global stage but only because it no longer has global interests. Many American institutions are still way more stable than the media portrays them as.

I would say no to Balkanization (at least for the next 50 years) but we probably will pull out of the global system. However, China is not gonna replace us. They are in a very hostile neighborhood of countries that hate it and China has only been winning because the west kept the seas open to free trade. Free trade only exists because of the American navy, not to mention its us that feed China, China is reliant on imports for survival, China does not have blue water navy. Actually if I’m gonna be honest, China is at higher risk of Balkanization.

How does a nation with 14 aircraft carriers (four of them state of the art) Nuclear subs,a Navy with their own air-force, the American Air-forces, the national guard, the marines, the American army, A fucking Space Force, lose?

The US uses its carriers to patrol the seas to Garuntee free trade. The US navy ratio compared to the rest of the world combined is like 10 American ships to 1 the rest of the world. Literally nobody can oppose the us right now. Chinese carriers are poorly built not to mention it would be completely against China’s interest to go to war with the US. China literally relies on Americans for food imports, that’s why the trade war fucked over our farmers.

Your eyes are shut if you can't see it. The marriage of the fed and the treasury make America immune to the financial game of cowboys and indians that is globalism. Any time a country threatens to say "bang bang you're dead, have a liquidity crisis and repay your debts", America can now say "Haha, no I'm not".

This paves the way for financial warfare, debt cancellation and migration to a regional or global currency without diluting their share of representative power. Everyone else gets to lag and lose power to American elites while their countries jump onboard. Also note that the weapon for this is the offshore reserve money which is largely USD denominated, so the rest of us are powerless unless we follow and change the relationships between our national bank and governments and most of us wouldn't survive it.
