Thought he was a shitbag until I looked at the Daraprim (the drug) website where it said that if you can't afford the price they'll give it to you for $1 a pill, and if you can't even afford that you can get it for free. I think the website may have changed since then.

Turns out he was just doing what every other drug company has done. He did it to show how fucked it all is (and make a big profit, yes)
