Braveheart's historicity was terrible, slandered one of the greatest men to ever live (Edward kicked out the jews dammit!), and also gave the Scottish some false history that they now use as a foundation myth, as well as providing Irish Americans with delusions that pure Scots and Irish like each other (they often hate each other more than they hate the English).
