idk but a lot of simple sentances in dutch and english can survive literal translation of every individual word in the sentance so I'd say their language is pretty close to ours
Even these two sentances which don't directly translate to eachother can survive this
>Wat was er eerder, de kip of het ei?
>What was there before, the chicken or the egg?
>What came first, the chicken or the egg?
>Wat kwam eerst, de kip of het ei?
Are anglos germanic?
From what I’ve learned, the historically racial and cultural impact that France has had on England is often understated.
Mid and north eastern English, yes. To the west is goes more “celtic”. Same for Scotland excluding the Hebrides.
Language wise yes also, although Scots ironically speak better Middle English than English do!
Brits are anglo subhumans. No way they are germanic or nordic.
Anglos are a mix between North Germanic and Celtic tribes. /thread
No fuck that
the Germans were the weaklings that the Slavs chased into the Forrest
this is why they lost every war they ever fought, except to the French, who are just German homosexuals who eat grapes
kinda
esp everything that has to do with fishing, farming, etc are preserved actually big presence of the ON influence just here. Normans didn't care about that shit them selves ofc, neither did clergy.
Just about all words considered to be foul are of either anglo saxon or ON origin, they also ofc overlap a lot these two groups. That's why it's considered offensive to say ass/arse insided of rectum or piss instead of urinate.
those cases are latin but the same applies to french, others are of ON and ON/anglo origin.
Point is those words are "foul" because they are the language of the farmers and common people and not that of elite that came some soon 1k years ago, still applies to this very day
When you see esp modern norway the same rules applies her, was never invaded but through unions came a bunch of foreign nobles. Dialect words that remains from the old language are foul while these imported words are considered nice. Means exactly the same
iceland they still speak the same language and there is no such thing there, a doctor lit calls an ass an ass and so on
ahem, Danish flag is a a goatfucker
We are Germanic. Idk any of us who claim to be Nordic though. Maybe some northerners would because they have a lot of Nordic blood but idk.
