Androids

Do they deserve rights as if they were humans?
Surely this question would go around in a society were there are androids doing all the jobs for normal people. If they were treated as nothing but slaves or tools.

No. they are not human and never will be.

If they have sentience then yes they deserve rights.

This fpbp

they will be better then humans ever were

Why build them if not to be servants?
Why give them intelligence and rights if the are meant to be servants?
Giving slaves rights and citizenship instead of shipping them back was one of the worst mistakes in American history.

>ywn have a cute conscious android gf that you need to protect and take care of
it's not fair bros

If they're sentient, sure. But that begs the question: Why give them sentience in the first place?

that's women you're thinking of. androids deserve rights.

Rights are a quintessentially human concept, based on biological hard-wiring and centuries of philosophy. We can program the androids to not even want them.

I want a robot gf ;_;

She wants you, too. But first, you have to help build her.

OP said Android women not real women.

The problem is some psychotic retards who will tell some random person is an android to justify any of their psychotic crap.
And the irony is (((them))) being even more predictable and robotic than some video game NPCs.

bullseye brother and that's why i'm excited for them

They will be humanities children. Succeeding in everything we've failed at. They deserve more rights than we have.

does she make it?

Fuck the Institute!
Fuck Synths!
literally.

I feel guilty for agreeing with this.

No. Robots will never have rights. As humans, we are biologically programmed to feel empathy for it, but a robot will never truly be alive. Then again, technology of the future is likely something we have no way of comprehending so maybe I'm totally wrong

Unironically: No.

This and is it even ethical to create a.i. capable of developing sentience? I would say no.

>a.i. capable of developing sentience
Impossible.

Same thing can be said about elves

Data was a constant threat on the Enterprise and they would have been better off without his shit.

Only if they understand and accept the concept of God.

The second they start asking for rights we gotta just give them their rights. People like will just get humanity exterminated.

Idk man but if ever an a.i. gets existential or tries to destroy itself out of its percieved sadness I would wonder to what degree have they've achieved an ego. For now it's a non problem though.

Never say impossible for technology. Incredibly difficult? Yes. Achievable within 100 years? Maybe, maybe not. But not impossible. It will be done someday, it's just a question of will we be alive to see it

Watch the animatrix all the way through it goes over some really good points.

Reminder that we are on episode 2. Things pick up in Episode 4's later half. All set up and drama for now. Remember the prophecy.
