A monarchy is very easily corrupted, all it takes is for the one in power to join a higher-than-life secret society, such as masonry or occultism. He'll relinquish the concept of putting his country above all else, and in its place, will be the interests of the secret society.
This happened to every single royal family in existence and it's what would 100% have happened to the brazilian monarchy if they remained strong in Brazil. A bonus to my point is the fact that virtuous men are few and far in between. If our monarchy stood in power, chances are that it would've turned into a shitty, convoluted mess of kikes and child sacrificers.
