There are two conflicting realities presented to us, both are pushed from the top (MSM, governments), and the bottom (leaks, whistleblowers) as well:

This is super anecdotal but I went to the ER to get a fish hook removed from my thumb. The ER was completely empty and they didn't make me wear a mask at all. One possible explanation is the role of super-spreaders. It very well could be that 10% of people cause 80% of infections or something similar. Therefore simply banning public gatherings could really help to reduce r0 drastically.

I think its bad and they know it but they can't have everything grind to a halt through endless lockdowns or collapse through panic but they can't have millions dead quickly either through not giving a fuck. Its going to kill a lot of people but at a steady enough rate now to prevent all out panic. Enough people in the west had already been innoculated with fear over the spooky leaked wuhan videos and stories, they demand the govt protect them, the govt is reluctant to disrupt the economy while some experts assume its no worse than a bad flu, when people started filling hospitals the govt had to be seen to be doing something, so the media got marching orders for full on fear porn to quell any dissent and prevent riots (great success) and now here they are applying for unemployment benefits cowering in the basement waiting for the govt tit to dangle down for the sweet suckling. All authoritarians the world over seized upon the opportunity to gorge their wildest fantasies of tyranny and total control or to be the first to cash in on treatments and vaccines. Meanwhile we still can't figure out if it came from a lab, China destroyed their samples at wuhan, the culture of saving face ensures we will never know. But on the bright side I ran the numbers for my state a couple days ago, 0.7% of total population tested, 0.1% of tests positive, 0.000075% of total population dead. I'm not pissing my pants over that. I say hide your granny and get back to living, but maybe hold off on the concerts and ball games for awhile.

Well I understand your opinion. Right now all I can really do is wish you best luck on your search for answers. I'm only certain about the fact that we indeed aren't told nearly everything about this stuff. My personal assumption is that it indeed has AIDS-genes in it, I mean just look what it does to T-cells, South Koreans seeing virus reactivating, Luc Monagnier's statement, etc. It could also explain draconian measures in China (after they realized what exactly it was what they were facing). Also keep in mind the virus seems to be mutating very fast, and there are currently thousands of different strains with different r0, cfr, etc. We may never know the truth.
