All the democrats do is react to Trump. So people got sick of hearing about it, and went full contrarian voting for someone they didn't know about to spite them. Most people do not understand politics. Most people don't want to. Most people want politics to be entertaining like a sitcom comedy show. Actual serious discussion isn't like that, its not funny and its not entertaining. For most people, its boring. An election is basically a popularity contest where both sides lie a lot, and the one with the best lies and memes wins. Nothing about what they are actually going to do, just their entertainment and comedy value. And when Trump is done and over with, either in November or four years later, the person who will be elected next will be whoever gets the most screentime and hatred from the democratic party during the republican primaries.
