I want to get a good idea for how much of Yas Forums is essential, laid off, or WFH. Which are you, and how has it been?
I'm finishing my degree so I guess you could call me WFH. Parents are still working remotely too, but they've been asked to scale back their hours and take vacation. I have a job lined up post-grad but I haven't gotten any information recently about how that might change.
no boomers coughing in the aisles or riots for certain items? I haven't been outside since mid march so I wouldn't know.
Samuel Butler
Not from what I've seen, I don't work at a grocery store so I'm not too sure
Jaxson Mitchell
Wfh, pretty great. I just smoke weed, watch youtube, and occasionally respond to an email
Sebastian Campbell
WFH.
Carter Davis
Working from home and it's great. No more driving, no having to deal with co-workers in person, no one watching what I'm doing, barely any work to do. I did take a pay cut but I'm still getting by, overall this lockdown has been a good thing for me since it's not like I'm a social butterfly anyway.
Christopher James
Essential. Boomers coofing all over my goddamn store and everyone is so fucking smug acting like they know better than everyone else. I've had to kick out so many boons and spics and boomers since this has started. Stressed out, tired, wishing to die, but at least this wagie got a raise

I used to work a corporate job, all the way through my twenties; Frivolous work. Mostly jewing other people; that's what corporate work is. Quit and became independent contractor in my early thirties. It's literally constructive work and their is good pay. Nothing has changed for me since people became scared of a fake flu. Matter point, I might be doing a hair better than usual. My old friends at corporate are all laid off. I think I realized something when I was younger: People's homes will always fall apart.
On furlough, on 80% pay but i'm saving more money since I don't have to pay for the commute or on regular social meet ups. still all hours that I should be working count towards my holiday (which I get a bonus few grand if I do not use) and for the months they have not originally timetabled they are running on the same time last year were I was working to cover for two sick employees. so all I'm doing is drinking tea/brandy and reading history. shits fucking sorted.
Gardener, still working. our socialist system is pretty decent, whomever has symptoms can stay home without calling in sick and get paid as per usual. those actually sick get paid as well. nice weather to work outside, pretty happy.
Dominic Garcia
I was furloughed a few weeks ago and am likely to be laid off shortly. I work in law. Things are pretty bad but I'm lucky from wealth and have few obligations or ties to drag me down. I suppose this is why people like me don't have wives or children.
Pretty sad now knowing that I could be a comfy gardener in comfy socialist Dutch country. What do you garden? Tulips?
Hudson Hernandez
we garden gardens user. and parks. anything involving nature really, and sand, even waterworks.
Tyler Howard
Essential. The fuel must flow.
Getting fewer hours due to less business, constantly dealing with idiots, and I’d be making more money if I was laid off and on employment. Can’t see my parents, because my mother is immunocompromised, and my girlfriend is serious about having no contact until quarantine is lifted.
Having a fucking jolly time.

Unemployment, that is

Laid off and taking classes from home Pretty comfy, making more than I was working in gibs
Ryder Cooper
i'm sorry user. that sounds like it sucks ass. what's keeping you from quitting and making more?
Luis Perez
I lived right next door (and above a bar) to pic related for a year when I was about 18. This is in West Flanders in Belgium. Made many a trip to the Netherlands and all over Europe really. Miss my Flemish and Dutch frens.
One, you can’t get on unemployment if you quit. Two, I’d be letting down my coworkers. Three, pride.
Isaac Allen
god that sounds so perfect. my other half wants to take me to the netherlands at some point, never stops talking about how beautiful it is. be grateful for this life that you have
Jose Gomez
a man of honor, i respect that. never looked into unemployment logistics before so i just assumed it was possible. are they at least giving you masks?
Dylan Russell
it's not that beautiful to be desu unless you like cute old city centers. >also posting in dutch-hate thread aha
Bentley Rogers
I like cute old city centers! The canals back then could be a bit poopy tho. I guess the grass is always greener, but The US is a hamster wheel of death. Unfortunately, the ways things have changed since 911, Currently, I never plan to board a plane again. I managed to make it to 40+ countries in this lifetime. I'm just gonna build one last house, (That I won't give to an ex-old lady this time), Grow old, and die.
John Butler
i work at a grocery store working 15 a week
Charles Sanchez
No masks provided. We’ve had to get those ourselves.
