Not because I don't believe, but because of my insignificance. I am one creature, of the innumerable creatures that presently exist, and those that have previously existed.
I prefer to solve my own problems; using the resources bestowed upon me by our Creator, and those that I have obtained throughout my journey here. I am not naive enough to assume my problems are more important to anyone else's, or that I am worthy of direct communication with God.
I have yet to encounter a circumstance that sheer willpower, or physical effort weren't enough to overcome. Whether this has divine fate, or I'm being guided by the invisible hand of our Creator; I cannot say. Nor do I dismiss the idea that one day my efforts will not be enough, and I will need to ask for some level of assistance.
I will continue through this life witnessing the wonders of creation, and trying to put more into the world than I take out of it; whether or not it is the intended way to live. I'd rather die doing my part to make the world a better place, than live on my knees begging forgiveness for my faults.
