Do Americans have cottage culture? Otherwise known as the small house in nature, we call these "vikend". A house for the weekend. And why is this the optimal living arrangement for conservative upbringing?

there's some people in the northeast who have shit like that, but largely the answer is no
Yes, but in typical America fashion most are fuckhuege
The only cottages America has are the ones Goerge Michael is interested in.
Not really, some do perhaps. I belong to a hunting camp which is owned collectively by 12 other members. We hunt and members can use the property off-season. I take the family in Spring and Fall for the weekend.
Many Americans already live in low-density areas. But most of us cannot afford to have a second house just for vacationing. It would be particularly baffling to most Americans that other people around the world do this, simply because the cost and utility is prohibitive. We are not that rich. As far as conservative living, we are still far more conservative than most places in Eurocuckistan where interracial breeding and Islam are commonplace. American whites still procreate within their race, go to church, and teach traditional values.
we do, a lot of people have a cabin or a beach house but its not like norway where 90% have access to a cabin in nature
Almost everyone in the NE has a ca.p, or cabin. I live in Maine in the country in a house on lake so I have no need for a camp, IDK I might buy one at a lake about 15 mins away though for hell of it.
I have a family one to use and a friend with a hunting camp site in the middle of nowhere that only dirt trails lead to that I can use. Depends on the state you grew up in I guess.
I live in Boston and live in a studio apartment. I can’t afford a cabin up north.
yeah they are generally hunting cabins/ lake cabins but I like on the canadian border in the great lakes so I don't know about other parts of US
the ranch is more common in america, here in brazil we take after them and have similar "sítios", pic related
This is a thing in Colorado but it's largely monied boomers that do it. Grandpa might have a cabin innawoods but you dont.
fuck vikendice
they just take up space and make nature ugly
Maine is cheap for houses in the country IF you can get a job..
we cant even afford 1 home
Lol nobody can afford that
Use wood, not like those ugly modern vikendi.
Fuck off, we're full.
man I'm even American myself and this reeks like mutt scum
Not really
Some people have condos or beach houses. Some people have houses on rivers or lakes. In the South and West a lot of people either own or lease land and go hunting on it
That's about it
What exactly is a sitio? Basically a ranch? We used the term in Texas back in the Spanish days
Yes, it's a thing, but not as widespread as it once was. Growing up, my family had a cottage up north. My uncle has since torn down the old cottage and built a modern house there. I'm still pissed about it. My grandfather built that log cottage with his own two hands.
I love how any place in the US is now adopting this. It used to be reserved for places like Portland or Austin but now it’s being picked up by... anywhere. “fUcK oFf wE’rE fUlL” -Reno,NV
No, tho it is the only real way to live. Am planning to handmake my own with natural materials next year
Lakehouses. We plop anything from a mansion to a trailer on the side if a lake and chill out there for a few weeks in the summer
>I live in Boston
Theres your first problem, paddy
As someone from colorado its pretty much our state motto due to all the west coast trash moving here. Almost told my new neighbor to fuck off back to the west coast until I found out hes from Georgia.
Do you mean “presidio” there partner?
>A sitio (from Spanish) is a space that is or can be occupied by something. In the Philippines the word denotes a subdivision of a barrio. The term was commonly used in Spanish Texas to designate parcels of land set aside for specific purposes, particularly in land grants. For example, a land grant known as a sitio de ganado mayor-a tract for raising horses, mules, and cattle-entailed the equivalent of 4,338 acres.
We're more beach oriented. We keep shore houses.
>i just can't wait to get out of my high density population city so i can go to my nature house to relax and enjoy in peaceful and intact nature
>for the weekend
Nope, although summer homes are common among boomer types.
Sure do in Michigan. Lots of lakes and woods. Many people go ‘up north’ on weekends. Mostly in spring through fall but there are plenty of hunters and fisherman out and about in the winter.
When my dad was a kid his family had a little cabin by a river. Their main residence was in a city.
They were working class, too.
It's unheard of these days, you'd have to be rich or living in an undesirable part of Appalachia basically.
