The US is Europe's defacto military. Most European nations have a token military and are basically vassal states to the US that's why they can spend so much on social programs while bending over and letting the American military walk all over them.
Realization that free markets aren't the solution to every tiny little thing.

We own less than you do. I might be wrong but an average American earns up to 80k usd. Here the average in ome is 36k. We already payed for Healthcare befor we got our money.
