Much of the unemployment has to be from temporary furlough. The extra federal gibs allows workers to be ok if they get laid off and allows companies to furlough employees without too much guilt (or at least with the ability to get them back) after things restart. Civil unrest probably depends on if the virus fucks us all once things restart, but if we were actually in a pandemic no one would want to go outside to protest.

Prosecutor here, we are releasing tons of criminals. There’s massive numbers of criminally insane people who generally spend 9/10 days in jail who are now spending 0/10 days in jail. The amount of them on the loose is going to lead to crazy shit this summer.
Funny example though, we have a dude who walks around jacking off. He starts jacking off within a few days after being released and off the meds, and jacks off again until he is arrested and given about a year each time. He’s just being allowed to walk the streets while jacking now.

America is going to balkanize, and with it comes the poverty. Rivers and fresh water systems near populated cities will become so filthy you can't drink it, people will begin to die from diarrhea, women will sell their bodies for canned meat or whatever scraps of food they can get. Ammo, antibiotics and antiseptics, lighters, toilet paper, food, and water will become the new currency. Best bet will be to hunker down with a group of people you trust and hope to survive. The housing market will basically collapse, having transportation will be a little bit important but with oil going the way it is, nobody will produce or import it, so get an engine that can sustain itself with biodiesel.
