South Korea, currently has a GDP per capital of $31,000 compared to Japan’s $43,000. North Korea has a GDP per capita of $1,300. If a united Korea were equal to Japan their GDP would be $3.3 trillion dollars, that would make Korea the 5th largest economy behind Germany.
Now if Manchukuo had an equal GDP per capita to Korea, they would also have a GDP of $3.4 trillion.
The intervention of the US in favour of their Communist allies destroyed these two great powers from developing, Korea thankfully advanced but that did not happen until decades after it potentially could have and poor Manchukuo under communist influence never got that opportunity

Oil only makes up 40% of Japan’s energy use, even Texas consumes more oil than Japan and oil consumption declines every year while renewable energy’s grow.
Cutting out the Japanese market would be harmful for the US because the US is dependent for example on Japanese motor companies for work, and Canada is increasingly moving away from being dependent on the US and EU and making trade deals with Korea and Japan instead because we learnt the hard way westerners are unreliable. The EU has threatened to sanction us and the US pulled it’s auto manufacturers from Canada to Mexico, and it was Japanese auto makers that came in and built plants here in their place.
