Europe is the motherland, with thousands of years of history, dozens of ethnocultural groups, and unique architecture. North America is beautiful too though, a place that Euros have spilled quite a bit of blood to control of over the copper colored redskin natives. I think I would have to go with Europe, but ideally we should retain control of both.

Depends. There are shitty places in North America, just as there are shitty places in Europe.
Large cities in general suck.
Eastern Europe is fucking trash.
But if you make abstraction of the people who live there, Cali would be a great place to live.
Overall my n°1 pick has to be France. The french countryside is so kino.
It has a very nostalgic vibe to it, but not the sad nostalgia, the happy one.
The french countryside feels like a Miyazaki movie, but it's like a character from Evangelion without the mental health issues.
It's hard to describe with words, what I feel, strolling through the hills of Burgundy or climbing the cliffs of Brittany. It's a feeling I don't get anywhere else, and I've visited every Western European country + the Northen countries.

The french always do things in a particular way which makes them quite remarkable.
Everything that comes out of France has a "je-ne-sais-quoi" that makes you say "that's so....french". French things are quirky, beautiful and marvellously thought out (they do have this nasty habit of overthinking it sometimes, but it just works).
Marvels of engineering that are commercial failures are quintessentially french, it's like a curse on this nation. They make incredible things that nobody buys, ever.
This arrogance sprinkled with blind pride, this extreme confidence that "yes, we are the best", and this mind-blowing disdain for everything and everyone else makes me say that the French are the original Chads. No, really. No other nation IN HISTORY has had as much balls as France; sometimes it hit them hard in the face, but most of the time they just shrug off everything we throw at them like it was dust on their shoulders. It's infuriating!
The french spirit, is in my humble bong opinion, one of conquest, pride and greatness. France is kino.
