Due to a lawsuit Alabama State University brought against the State of Alabama in the late 1990s which went against ASU, they have to offer minority scholarships to white students. The black students seethed like crazy after the court's decision because they thought minority scholarships were always for blacks even if blacks were the majority. ASU has a non-competitive entrance requirement, which means as long as you have a high school diploma or a GED, you're in. You can get all four years for free. Live nearby in Cloverdale or the Garden District and be sure to own a gun. Before you know it, you'll be hanging out with the Honey Beez!

It's a public university. Why should "all black" universities exist when they're paid for by the taxpayers? There are two other public universities in Montgomery: Troy University and Auburn University at Montgomery. There's no reason for Alabama State University to exist except be a place for blacks to LARP going to college.
