This has been obvious for weeks. Unless you think Covid-19 largely cured a whole range routine causes of death, none of it adds up. Obviously some people are getting very sick and some people with a short time to live got their ticket punched in this mortality harvest, but the numbers will be telling in the end. Baseline mortality will be a tad lower in the coming months, but overall deaths will be identical to past years adjusted for population.

All deaths are counted as covid deaths even without a test. To be counted as a positive case though, you need an actual test. So, we see the disparity between confirmed positive cases and deaths. What remains unclear is the criteria that must be met to be considered "recovered". Do they need to test negative?
