Should I join?
I'm 18, I feel like my life means nothing, I don't have a purpose.
My dad told me I should try joining the RAF and become a pilot.
At first I thought "yeah, I'm going to fight for my country". I love Britain, but when I see the mess it has become i'm not sure I want to fight for it anymore.
Help me, I'm lost, I don't know what to do.

NO, your boomer parents don't know how shit works anymore, go study computer science and learn to code.
You can pick up some skills there, but don't put your heart into being a slayer for zog
since you are a faggot you will fit right in
I did 4 years in the marines then I transferred over to the AF as a 2nd LT. after I got my engineering degree. Life in the marines is tough, so go Air Force if you like to live in comfort.
Pretty cush, though as a former marine it's kinda aggravating to listen to spoiled ass airmen whine about the building being too hot.
but I don't like code. I'm good but I hate it. I like maths though.
that pic though...
yeah well you're a nigger
yeah I was planning Air Force. I want to be a pilot, don't really plan on being premium cannon fodder.
Get in there for benefits, retire in no more than six years. Six years could still be 2 or 3 tours in the middle east where you could be killed for zog. Get your training, diploma and get out.
It's sad I had to look at your flag in order to answer the question... If you insist on joining make sure you pick a MOS that seems like a good fit for you, do they assign jobs for you, or do you enlist as whatever you want? I know US Army is mostly free choice, but recruiters will shill certain jobs and will try to get you in asap if there's a wait on your MOS. At the end of the day, if it's free choice pick a comfy POG job, collect your paychecks, do as you're told, keep your mouth shut unless asked, and pick a comfy MOS. I picked one that has pretty ideal duty stations, germany, SK, Japan, stateside, and UAE(?)
military experience will come in handy in the future, if you have no meaning in your life go for it.
bad advice. this guy will most certainly die when shtf
Be self employed.
Hide your money.
Screw it out of as much benefit as you can.
Brits are shit tier.
You're not working for your fellow man you're working for yourself.
As for fighting for Britain, forget it. There is no Britain just a shithole north of euroshithole and east of North America shithole.
Our leaders are cunts and unfortunately we could have got rid of one to Corona but .... Proof there is no god.
the point of joining the military is to not fight for you country but to learn. there's a reason right wing movements never go anywhere, it's because modern right wingers have grown weak and play video games all day.
aight. as soon as lockdown is over I'm signing up.
The US military is a completely different beast mate. You have military hospitals, own weather service all sorts of stuff.
All we have is green uniforms, old housing, shit food, absolute unquestioned loyalty and dumped after service. Return home to a more degenerate nigger infested country than the one you fought in.
I think most ex servicemen would agree with me that the dum niggers in whichever wogistan you served in are better behaved than the cunts back at home. As thick as mince but better people.
the likelihood of actually becoming a pilot after joining an air force is very low
Becoming a pilot in the air force takes A LOT of hard work.
Just know, if you regret it, and all the discipline, andatory formations where you stand in one position for 40+ minutes silently, constant bullshit assignments and 'overtime' doesn't sound like your cup of tea, it's not for you. I don't regret joining but it wasn't what I expected, your first job will always be janitor in some way, shape or form unless you're an officer. I don't regret joining but it wasn't what I expected. If you're not outgoing and personable you won't fit in and you'll feel like an outcast. I've seen a few guys on Yas Forums lately saying they resent everyone around them and wish they had the soldier morals and attitude you see in movies. I got along with everyone, but there were a lot of foreigners and former druggies who lead shitty lives and tried to bring their street life to the army. All in all, it's like any job you'll get, there will be shit heads, and there will be great people, but you'll be forced to get along with people more in the military. I can talk back to my boss and tell him he's a moron if I disagree, doesn't slide in the slightest in the military. I think you'll like it though user, I learned a lot about myself and others, taught me to be selfless and the values of teamwork. One person pulling the weight of a task will just drag you down and I brought those values to my current job and turned the place around.
If you like maths and can get A's in college then math PhDs are based
Wait what food do you guys get?? In basic I literally was able to eat ice cream daily, and hamburgers every Sunday. My usual was chicken, banana muffins and boiled eggs. I never left the states lucky enough, so I usually ended up eating my own food unless we were on field exercises
I joined the marines as a reservist, just so i could be prepared to train my friends, and possibly kill people in the future if shtf.
>maths PhDs are based
tell me more
yeah my brother is already in the RAF so I have an idea of what it's gonna be like.
Apparently those who have the best food are the french...don't know if it's true though.
Even as a white American I understand why you are hesitant with the shit our countries have turned into bröther. I probably wouldn't have if I knew better prior to this when my platoon was like 60% Mexican
its not just hard work a lot of it is luck there may not even be an open position in a squadron at the time of enlistment
also you can get a pilots license earlier than 18 so you will also be competing against those who already have licenses
>I love Britain
Then why don’t you marry it?
I have a loicense ^^
Yeah the open space thing is the main issue but apparently the RAF is pretty desperate for pilots as of right now...
Best thing I have ever done. Fuck the fat lazy weaboo fucks that say “hurr durr, ur gonna die for Israel”. They will always be the first to fail at life.
these
is your dad stuck in the 40s and thinks you're still flying spitfires?
School canteen dinners or ration packs.
doesn't have to be fighter pilot. If they give me a job as a cargo pilot that's fine with me.
damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
I was shocked to see the number of Mexicans in the army. Barely spoke English lmao
You go military if you're intelligent and can't afford higher tier of studying.
If you're stupid go working and find a good trade.
For the career in the military you will be always behind nepotism, so I would prefer chilling behind a good leadership position.
or even helis. don't care as long as I'm flying.
wait, can foreigners join the US army? That seems weird.
Not gonna lie MREs grew on me, chicken pesto is the best American one, comes with TWO pastries...
My understanding is that the closer you are to power, the more likely you are to get your wings clipped.
I'd rather keep a low profile, don't want to go any higher than captain, otherwise I'll get into trouble, and that's the last thing I want.
sounds nice
Aye they were likely Puerto Rican, boricua! Shit got annoying real fast. I saw a lot of Africans from Africa though surprisingly enough, in basic my PG was a former ukranian soldier.
kek got to love the attitude of lazy unmotivated teens. wouldn't your highness even consider a state of the art attack helicopter?
Joining the military is the ultimate self-cuckening. Many people come out with lifelong injuries such as knee, hip, back, and shoulder issues. And that's not even counting losing a limb. Also there's the mental issues, such as PTSD. And brain damage from explosive ordinance.
Once you get out, you'll find getting any sort of medical assistance to be like trying to get blood from a stone. You're just discarded. You did it for country, the women and children, God, but the only people who come out ahead are the ones who do it for themselves and took advantage of education benefits and the G.I. Bill.
Many people come out with exactly what they came in with: nothing. Don't be one of those people. If I were you, I'd take an entire year off and just figure out what you want to do. You've spent 18 years listening to other people telling you how to dress, eat, spit out that gum, etc... Let that crap wear off and get to know that person you thus far haven't been allowed to; yourself.
Take this time to get into running, and gym. Do situps with a weight on your chest, and pushups with a weight on your back. You'll be leagues ahead of everyone else by this time next year.
You can join for citizenship and fast track yourself, three year enlistment is faster than the citizenship process for most, and they get good benefits from it. Their work ethic is usually stronger than an American born citizen, they're there because if they fuck up their dreams of America go bye-bye
Join the Salvation Army.... or the kiss army.
check oh I see. But to be fair I don't think I'll be moving to the US. This place might be rotten but it's my home, I can't just leave. Even if it's crappy, it's my country.
Don’t let this shock you, but I’m a foreigner as well.
Does the RAF have a pilot shortage like the USAF does?
You're gonna regret it in 10 years if you're planning that far ahead.
Anyway good luck, lad
Serve a couple of years in your army, then join Wagner group (they will probably pay you extra for the experience and language), go to some African shithole, mingle with local warlords and make a shit ton of money of blood diamonds or some shit like that
something something israel goy
I didn't know the USAF had a pilot shortage, but yes, there are many open positions for pilots in the RAF. I think the only country which doesn't have a pilot shortage is France. Might explain why their wages are shit.
thanks swissbro
thanks but no thanks. I'm a clean guy, I ain't selling my soul to some mafiosos who kill people who did nothing wrong.
yeah yeah I know.
I like that, and that's exactly how I felt. Like it or not, I am what I am and I do what I do because of America. I wouldn't suggest joining our military as a foreigner unless you're third world looking for a better life, when you get out over there you'll have a comfy life.
I was going to give a serious answer but I can tell Yas Forums already pumped his head up with stupid shit so why waste my time.
I did 3 years in the military and 5 years in the first strike units. The military was ok, perfect for a young man like me, we did everything in excess.
Survival drills in the mountains was the hardest, but thinking back its an experience i like to have experienced.
Was called to Yugoslavia and also to ambassad duties over the globe but reading what happened in Yugoslavia with genocides and all and ambassad duty is not my thing so i am glad i did not go to either.
To old for that stuff now but i am glad to have done it, fighting for my country although there was no fighting but it could have been.
When i meat old frens the old army stories always comes up, we had some serious fun back in the 90s :D
nah c'mon tell me what you think
checkem
>when I meat old frens
kek
wholesome answer, thanks Sven.
well i wont tell you what to do but i will tell you the recruiter will absolutely lie and tell you that you will become a pilot 100% guaranteed
as for me I get my fix from ace combat and dcs although i am currently saving up for a ride in a fulcrum from migflug
