He is right the entire argument in the US at least is that they need colored people to pick the cotton for cheap. When you stop and think about it, it's the actual argument. They need to import farm workers that the farmers can pay beneath minimum wage without the workers rights that Americans have. It's a replacement for slaves. It keeps food prices down though. It's the same argument for sending factories overseas. It's cheaper because Americans have workers rights. People in other countries don't have rights. They have sweatshops. So factories are sent where the workers have little to no rights and don't have to pay them very much. The whole system is based around taking advantage of people to the absolute most that companies can. It's not about what is good for individual people at all.
