Because of the collectivist mentality of part of the country, people are losing their jobs, homes, access to healthcare, and access to food. You can't half-ass collectivism; either the government 100% feeds you, houses you, takes care of you, or they leave you alone to do it yourself. Considering we've seen what happens when you let the government do everything, there's really only one option left.

Individualism does not mean every person is functionally unrepentant. Individualism means that a person is to be given individual rights and liberties that cannot be interfered with. Individualism is something that says “you cannot dictate I must do something for the benefit of something or somebody else”

When the entire species is threatened e.g. Agenda 21/2030/2050, etc, humans will not be able to resist as society is already splintered and atomised. Once society is individualised, it is easy to get people to follow social media trends even if it means leading them to their own destruction.
