What are your honest thoughts on taxation in your country?

It's theft.

Taxation is indeed theft. On purely moral grounds, taxation can be opposed (violates the most basic principles of right to your body and property). But what I find amazing is how people actually defend taxation on the notion that it actually does good.

What do you actually feel you get out of taxes? With our taxes, the government engages in terrible wars overseas. Uses taxes to pay for horrible public schooling that brainwashes our children. Uses taxes to bail out failing banks and corporations prolonging economic misery. Uses taxes for large amounts of welfare thereby subsidizing poor behavior.

If anything, taxes are not contributing to society, they are actually leading to society's decline. Public government in general is the reason why our towns, families and communities mean virtually nothing anymore as everything gets absorbed in public and global governments.

There is no such thing as a "Free Market". It doesn't exist. It's a fabrication. Every Market is under control of either the Government (Socialism to an extent or Communism/Totalitarianism) or the Bourgeoisie (Capitalism).

Don't let anyone ever tell you any different.

Another fun fact: taxation under democracies tends to be SIGNIFICANTLY higher than it was under monarchy. There are many reasons for this, but it really makes you wonder why most people consider us "more free" in democratic nation-states despite the fact the government actually plays a much bigger role in our lives.

Most people would say that the basic role of government is to protect our property. And yet why does the government use taxes to do so much more than that?

I think part of that is that the modern democracy's whole shtick is that is acting on behalf of the people. That gives it license to do shit that a smarter population under a more honestly self-interested governmwnt would not put up with.

Indeed. That is the great fraud of democracy. Because they claim everything they do is more the people and with a public mandate, they can essentially do whatever they want with little pushback. At least under monarchy there was no question that everything the monarch owns is privately owned.

The basic role of government in a democracy eventually becomes paying government workers/politicians and expanding itself.

Ive broken my left and right arm previously, and it cost me about $100 in total. Fairly happy with how its spent, should never be satisfied tho, should always demand and aim for the best use.
