In other words, you have no rights if you don't have any responsibilities along with those rights.
Let's take everyone's favorite right around here, the 2A in the U.S. the right to own and bear arms.
Sure you have that right...but you have a responsibility to not let those weapons fall into the hands of some lunatic. You have the responsibility to the proper upkeep of those weapons. You have the responsibility to not just shoot them off willy-nilly around your neighbors.
Some of these are enumerated into laws and some of them are not.
For every social program you have a right to you also have a responsibility to not abuse that program and to pay into it (taxes) when you don't need it for others to use responsibly.
When you remove the responsibility you open the door for rights being abused and then eventually those rights being used as a tool of abuse themselves.
Basically, rights and responsibilities go hand in hand.

I think I would agree with this. Rights are important but the responsibilities that come with those are infinitely more important. In a way it's similar to how you shouldn't just unabashedly be given privileges, you should be able to navigate properly so you don't fuck up and lose your privileges.

I think in truth everything we can imagine we have a "right" to do, in that we can just go ahead and do it, except if we do something that is morally wrong we should expect retaliation. Vaclav Havel said in communist societies eveything is forbidden unless the government expressly gives you the right or demand to do something, while in a free society everything is allowed unless it is expressly forbidden. Still there is no real, practical right to do something which is immoral.
