what does the rest of the study say? was this a blind trial or just looking at places where each of the treatments were given? If the treatments weren't given under exactly the same circumstances this doesn't prove anything.
Case and point, if HC / HC + AZ was only administered to extremely/Critically ill patients and the "no HC" group contains a mix of critical/moderate/light, then this could prove the opposite and that HC improves the outcome of the critically ill.
