His recorded club performance albums were good but all late night and filmed specials are garage. Some comics just don't carry over to theaters and TV studios well. Bill Burr is one of them. He's good in small clubs but his Netflix specials are atrocious.

Eh, comedy is subjective and it's changed a lot since the late 80's. She doesn't produce as many immediate gut-reaction laughs, it's more of a slow burn that takes time to develop but lands a lot deeper.
