To be fair, my (and most of not all) hospitals cancelled all elective surgeries. These are procedures like x-ectomies, hip replacements, non emergent stuff. You don't want a bunch of people in vulnerable status (recovering from surgery) in the same place as pandemic patients. Those procedures are the main money maker for hospitals, so basically all staff that aren't involved with general upkeep, and those who only work in surgery areas saw their hours cut.
Personally I'm more concerned about small business owners getting fucked than doctors and nurses. They make enough money that if they're without work and not retarded financially they'll be fine.

I just listened to TOOL - Fear Inoculum again and realize now that they literally called this shit and the song is about a fake vision of a virus while you chase away the deciever and fear is no more.
