so they can be uploaded to Yas Forums, there is minimal loss compared to the render,at least that is for the smaller ones under 30 or so MB.
There is no way to upload them on Yas Forums if saved in png, there really is no trade off in the first place, in some cases i've seen that jpegs are of better quality, such as in this video.
