My brother in law is Bulgarian he is a nice guy I like him.
One thing I don’t like about him though is he refuses to let you pay for anything it can be quite embarrassing when two grown men argue in front of a cashier who’s going to pay for the item.
Once I went to pick up my truck from a mechanic and he tagged along. I paid for the services and noticed the tire was a little low and I asked if they could fill it for me. They did it for free of course but it’s customary to ask “how much will it be”

I read the article. The line goes somewhere and has a purpose, and it wasn't built by the Germans (although they may have contributed a bit of work when they restarted it in '43, only for it to be finished by the Soviets by late '45).
Interesting rail line though, I wish I'd heard about it before. It's an engineering marvel, just look at all those switchbacks and loops in such a short distance! And the altitude change too, it's really quite impressive.
