I grew up in the 70's. Was awesome. Zero fucks given for anything.

Back then, you could be free and sociable. People had more rights. They had privacy. American culture was still intact, and you still had all of the modern conveniences.
>and China was starving,

No one on Yas Forums was alive in the 70s.

I am a bit older than most on here.
Born in '64. It was actually a great time.
The West Coast was a nice place to visit and live and we didn't have the sensitivity issue we have today.
When i started HS in '78 you could actually get a real education.

And that was ironically exactly what made it good.
It was ugly beautifull and it was really refreshing. Besides, hairy and dirty is bullshit. You shouldve seen humans in the enlightenment age. Today we seem to have to be sterile to be considered clean.

those gentlemen look very fashionable in their fashion ties & their fashion shorts

yeah but the music was fire

>Everyone was dirty and hairy.
Hairier yes, but you had to be cleaner because you actually went outside and talked to other people.

70s was comfy af. I was only it it for a few years though.

Youre a real man if you can wear something like that and be confident about it.
Today its mostly gay rappers or something.

Yet America was still America. user, here is the truth, any decade pre-2000 is better than any decade post 2010.

Born in Ohio in 1971. Nobody wore shorts to the office.

Ahh no. You weren't in the 70s were you?
>It was horrible. Everyone was deathly skinny. Wahmen had no tits unless a land whale, no money, no decent coffee - $2.00 minimum wage. FUCK dat.

The 70's was awesome, lots of sex, no AIDS, gays were regularly beaten by the cops, the ERA failed, feminists were still considered kooky, gasoline was 49 cents a gallon, cars were fucking huge, nothing on the taco bell menu was over $1.49.

Was a kid, it was great, so much freedom.

Australia, bro

Computers were fucking expensive back then, so incels were still just a small pool of freaks.

Something I've noticed, there isn't mass-nostalgia for the 70s like there is with the 80s, or the 60s to a lesser degree. Even my hippie boomer dad who hated the 80s also hated the 70s.

I still don't get how people went from looking proper in the early 60s to looking like ugly apes in the late 60s.

I would love to be able to take a piss without unzipping my fly. Max comfy

Those guys look cool as fuck though. Note that even in the fashion magazines they have ACTUAL men, not the effeminate 19 year olds we see today.

50s nostalgia is based. 60s nostalgia is based. 80s nostalgia is based. 90s nostalgia is based. They all have their aesthetic and zeitgeist.

The 70s were trash. The 2010s were trash. The 2000s were so-so.

dirty hippies influencing the culture caused that

OK boomer

That's an underrated aesthetic, the early 60s. Subdued and classy.

I was born in 96 so I'm not an expert, but most of the people I know who remembered the 90s didn't like it that much. They say it was a good time to grow up, but not so much to live in as an adult. Comfy, yeah, but nihilistic.

The best movies came out in the 70s

Ok Xoomer.

Except for all the lead in the air

>but the chicks love it

Personally, I like the 70's vibe a lot. It seems like a primitive version of the 80's. Cooler electronics too.

Short skirted females, with long strait hair parted down the middle, huge bush- never shaven, if a female was 15 pounds overweight she would feel ashamed, if she was 20 pounds overweight she was a whale or a pig, you'd still fuck her but you wouldn't brag about it. Big asses were disgusting, girls would look in the mirror and say "does my butt look too big in this?". Your mom would get together with other moms and make you go on dates with neighborhood girls, you couldn't stay inside for too long, even if you were only 8 years old, your mom and dad (you almost always had both back then) would say "go outside and play", they would get angry with you for sitting around the house. All the kids, one hundred percent of them, could climb any tree or fence in the neighborhood, run from the police or bad people if you got into a little mischief, because they were fit and had normal levels of testosterone. Your dad would show you how to fix the car, and you would want to learn, people would drive with cans of beer in the center console, and this was normal, there were cigarette butts on the floor of the grocery store, the butcher would have a cig hanging from his mouth as he cut your meat, whenever the adults got together with strangers, maybe for a business deal or something, they would offer a drink from the liquor cabinet, and they would give ice from a bucket that had tongs, and it would be weird to turn down a few hard drinks, even if it was the middle of the day, everyone said the word nigger all the time

The seventies were awful boring in the midwest but if you weren't in disco country, there was things going on. Even in disco land you had Atari 2600s and head shops. What's not to like?

I like how they kind of blended together in the early 80s.
