>Practice humility
>don't turn your back on those in need
WOW. LIKE HOW DO I DECODE THE TRUE MEANING OF THIS.

Jesus said he who has an ear let him hear.
Not being able to hear the truth when you read the bible is a bad sign. It means you aren't where you need to be.

>Why doesn't this 2000 year old book speak in my modern vernacular
Retard.

ok your highness

Don't eat clams goyim

>don't be a cunt
>WHY IS THIS SO CRYPTIC!?!?!?

it's the most scrutinized and studied book in history. They have versions that decode it for you. That's why people go to church, learn from someone who's studied it.

doesn't matter which translation, they're all written in riddles, by the way doesn't catholicism think you need a priest to interpret it for you? and then protestants tell you if you can't understand it on your own you're cursed...

Bruh, if it's too cryptic for you, you can read it along with John Gill's Exposition of the Bible Commentary or Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible.

It's not hard to understand, it's just the way it is written. Spend more time studying the Bible and you will become more familiar with the language. You get used to it and it makes more sense.

There have been almost 30 different English translations of the Bible completed in the last twenty years for purposes of clarity. Most people have a difficult time understanding the King James Bible because it was written in England in the 17th century, but now we have plenty of alternative translations which are much easier to understand.

Jesus spoke in parables as a form of punishment to those who wouldn't listen. He would explain the parables to those who would listen.

people go to church to tithe. and the books not fucking cryptic , just read it

>2nd Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The whole Bible is for the church, but not all of it is TO the church. Most of it is directed towards Jews/Israel. Also, if you don't approach the word of God with an earnest intention to understand, you certainly won't. It's supernatural just how messed up and muddy your doctrine will be unless God himself helps you understand things.

The living translation is a very easy version to understand. Also find a Bible that turns the words of Jesus into another color in the new testament so you can distinguish what he said

mary had a child with no intercourse
joseph wanted to divorce her
god told him not to
Do you know the meaning of this for example

>now we have plenty of alternative translations which are much easier to understand.
yea and when you read them in plain modern english it becomes strikingly apparent how stupid and primitive these stories are. It's obvious they were written by ancient retards who didn't understand the world and were edited by elites to maintain order and power. I love how jesus literally tells everyone to pay their taxes. It's so obvious.

>Why is this book so cryptic?

>"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

>"Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them."
From John 12

They are meant to be understood by those who believe on God.

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

ok chosen one

It's too archaic. Here is an example of what the whole book is like:

>And the Lord came upon me, and three angels at his side, each wielding flaming swords
>"Take the three swords, and travel down to the village"
>"And murder each Canaanite and Sunnite for each is inundated with the mark of the Holy"
>"And once each is taken, bathe three times in the purest of waters"
>"For only forgiveness comes to he who strives"
>And the town burned for 14 days and 15 nights and when the smoke cleared, none were harmed for they were replenished with the vigor of God

THAT'S THE WHOLE FUCKING BOOK
WHAT DOES ANY OF IT MEAN
WHO WROTE THIS

>mary had a child with no intercourse
Because God was Jesus’s father, not complicated
>joseph wanted to divorce her
Because she had a child that wasn’t his
>god told him not to
Because Mary didn’t do anything wrong so there was no reason to divorce her. What is your IQ?

I'm saying I can readily understand the language it's written in, it just takes time getting used to 'thou, thy' stuff

This Bible can be pricey but it's well worth it. It's readable yet accurate, with the culmination of Biblical scholarship behind it, as well as archaeological and historical research, and it explains most verses at the bottom of each page. You will understand almost everything, and if you don't, you can look them up in the two commentaries I mentioned here

About 8 different times in my 36 years of life
>I've had enough of you sinners
>its rapture time
>lol just kidding

It's almost as if God has no balls. Or he's a sadistic piece of shit.

He's right you know.

The word of God and the preaching of the cross is foolishness indeed to those who are perishing.

You need to understand the supernatural meta-narrative of the bible. Without it, it doesn't make sense indeed.

When it comes to understanding the bible, these 4 seminars are elementary:

Do yourselves a favor, and watch it. You'll gain a skill that will last you a lifetime. No joke.

It isn't the whole book and you know it, satan.

Not emend Christian, but it’s only cryptic if you try to shoehorn in modern values and twist all the meanings.

this is a very literal understanding, basically just rephrasing what i said

what do you mean "the meaning"?
a descriptive account like "the cat is on the mat" describes a state of affairs

?

>But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.
It's out of mercy that he patiently waits, for those who have still not repented.

What the fuck else do you think it could mean? Not every thing has to symbolically reveal the ultimate nature of the universe

True facts. Man am I glad he's so long-suffering, praise GOD that he saved me.

clearly it's metaphor, why would anyone care about a man and a woman having a child?

can you give me an example of a part you find difficult to understand, it all seems clear and straightforward to me

It's not matter of the chosen one. If you read the book, and are familiar with the principalities of which it is built, you'll get a consistent message. The parables echo details that are present in different forms in other areas of the books. John the Baptist being the Elijah that would come before the messiah was one example. The generation of which Jesus appeared to being an evil one with lost sheep, refers to the pharisees and sauducees being the heads of the evil generation, but those who had faith, could recognize Jesus.

Bible is cryptic
Q drops are cryptic

Q is from the Bible.

The Bible is Godbreathed. God can decide wheter you will understand the Bible or not, and how deeply.

A humble christian fasting and seeking God can be given deep wisdom and help in their life while reading.

A prideful atheist might not see anything, as God choose to keep scales infront of their eyes.

God is good, I must obey him more.

>Why is this book so fucking cryptic? You can't tell me with a straight face you understand it.
Because Jesus is the decoder for all of it. If you don't have Jesus and the Holy Spirit you can't understand any of it. You must be born again of the Spirit.

>But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

>clearly it's metaphor
why
the Bible is largely a record

>He's right you know.
no, I have been "listening"
