The US can't compel domestic oil drillers to go along with the cuts with regulation because that's illegal according to antitrust law, so we'll have to bribe them to stop extracting instead. Trump tried to play hardball first with his "energy dominance" policy, and now it's blown up in his face. His plan now is to force US taxpayers to subsidize higher oil prices to appease OPEC+ and keep the shale industry on life support. The shale revolution is dead.
