Remember that chimera virus that was created from the SARS virus and using HIV genes, this Vice article says that the new hybrid virus is just 12% different from the original SARS virus.
Anyway, the new SARS-CoV-2 virus does have a mutation that gives it genes similar to HIV and Ebola viruses.
Weird thing is that the new SARS-CoV-2 virus can attack your body's immune system just like the HIV virus can, the asymptomatic transmission is also similar to HIV. But it's as contagious as Ebola, except that no virus particles are found in the urine. But yeah, the new coronavirus does have similarities to the HIV virus which originally came from baboons or monkeys.
The Zhengli Shi woman who created the chimera virus using the HIV delivery system, I thought the paper said that bat coronaviruses are able to infect humans with the right mutations and people were saying she predicted that bat coronaviruses can infect people. But I didn't know that she predicted that the bat coronavirus would have an HIV-like mutation, only that she predicted that bat coronavirus can infect humans. She was just using the HIV delivery system to say that bat coronavirus can cross the species barrier into humans.
